Dear Day Planner Lovers,
I need to have a heart-to-heart about what has happened with Direct Sales Planner over the past year because it is changing the way I do business from now on.
1. I invested several thousand dollars in day planners being specific for several direct sales companies. If you were on the Design Team for one of these companies, you know what I’m talking about, and you know the work that went into doing this. I ordered 25 planners for each of the new companies (Young Living Essential Oils, Pampered Chef, etc.) At the end of the season … even late in April 2017 … I still had 24 of each of the planners that didn’t sell. Into the recycle bin they went! BIG financial loss! Not going there again! I also overestimated the sales that Stampin’ Up! would generate, and had several boxes that went to the bin as well.
2. Because I have gone to printing my day planners through George at Document Engine, I have had MUCH better outcome with the coil binding than when I printed my own and took them to Office Depot. You know when someone doesn’t want your business when they purposely make a muck of the job and you unknowingly ship them to customers. That’s exactly what Office Max/Depot did to me, and that’s exactly why I will have my planners made with George again forever. No more hassle, George delivers them to my house in his personal pickup truck, and stacks them in my office!
3. I will continue to offer a couple of different day planners: one is the download designed and sold by Lauren at Restored 316 Designs, and my own Direct Sales Planner that will be shipped to you. However, I have zero cushion financially to start with this year because of all the lost sales, and I had to claim a loss on my Income Taxes. I am going to have a pre-order period that started September 15 and will print as I have sales every week.
Here is a list of the day planners that I will no longer be producing:
Damsel in Defense
Young Living Essential Oils
I will continue to produce day planners for:
Generic Direct Sales (party plan)
